Delete Your Data
Last updated: 31 July 2026
Mona has no backend server. Your data lives in two places only: on this device, and — if you signed in and synced — in an app-created folder in your own Google Drive. The Developer holds no copy and cannot access it. Deleting your data is therefore something you do yourself, and it takes effect immediately.
Option 1 — Delete specific data in the app
Settings → Danger zone permanently deletes data from both this device and your Google Drive. There is no undo.
- Choose what to delete: Vault documents, Expenses, Journal entries, Recipes, Subscriptions, or Family tasks.
- Confirm twice when prompted. Each action deletes every item of that type, including the copies in Google Drive.
- Payment history — Settings → Payments → Clear payment history.
- Connected mailbox — Settings → Subscriptions → disconnect. Removes downloaded email headers and deletes the IMAP app password from the keychain.
- Google Drive link — Settings → Drive accounts → Unlink.
Option 2 — Delete everything
- Run each Danger zone action above to remove synced data from Google Drive.
- Unlink your Google account in Settings → Drive accounts.
- Uninstall Mona. This removes the local database, cached files, and all credentials in the device keychain.
- Optionally revoke Mona’s access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- If you unlinked or uninstalled before clearing Drive data, the app folder may remain. Delete the folders named "Mona" and "Mona - Family" at drive.google.com, then empty Drive trash.
Option 3 — Request deletion by email
Because the Developer stores none of your data, there is nothing on our side to delete. If you need written confirmation of that, or help with any step above, contact support and we will respond.
